God never ceases to amaze me. He continually gives me signs to put my heart at peace and a smile on my face. Let me explain!

Mother Teresa has been my favorite saint for as long as I can remember. I own movies and books about her life, went on a mission trip to serve alongside the Missionaries of Charity, and even dressed up as her for All Saints Day. Needless to say Mother Teresa has made quite the impression on me and I strive to imitate her example throughout my life.

As most of you know by now, I am adopting a beautiful, now 17-year-old daughter, named Ellie. She moved in the day before the stay-at-home order began in March, which turned out to be such a blessing in disguise! We have had hours upon hours to get to know each other and make memories that will truly last a lifetime.

Well Ellie’s birthday was on September 5th and the morning of her birthday I went on Facebook and saw a quote I shared 7 years ago from Mother Teresa. Yes seven. The number of perfection.

“Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness.” -Mother Teresa.

Woah. That was so providential. I was then reminded that it is Mother Teresa’s feast day. WHAT?! The saint that I looked up to so much and who gave her life for others in such an inspiring way has a feast day on my daughter’s birthday. God has such a neat way of continually reaffirming us and preparing our hearts in ways that we may never truly understand.

I hope this post finds you doing well and having a few “God winks” of your own! Also keep Ellie and I in your prayers as the adoption finalization is September 9th!!

I encourage you to remain open to the ways that God wants to show you His Will in the small and big ways. God will keep reaffirming what He desires; I challenge you to be open to whatever these things are that God is calling you to.
